MORGAN KNOWLES

The day was dedicated to the man who has made 218 appearances for the Saints, having made his debut back in 2015. Knowles is also now joint vice captain for the Saints alongside Jack Welsby.

It was announced back in September that Knowles would be having a testimonial season at the Saints during the 2025 campaign. You can read more about that announcement here.

The 28 year old was part of the Saints Academy, progressing his way through the ranks before establishing himself as a first team regular at the club. He has so far gone on to lift four Super League (2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022), three League Leaders’ Shield (2018, 2019 & 2022), one Challenge Cup (2021) and one World Club Challenge (2023) in a Saints shirt.

PRE GAME

Prior to the gate at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Saturday, we had a passing wall down in the West Stand for fans to enjoy practicing their rugby skills before the game.

Some players from local community clubs also got to head out with the players onto the pitch, as they accompanied players from both sides onto the Totally Wicked Stadium pitch.

HALF TIME

During the half-time break we had community clubs compete in games on the pitch at the Totally Wicked Stadium. They got to showcase their skills in front of the South Stand on the pitch at the home of the Saints.

THE GAME

As expected, both sides heavily rotated their squads throughout the game, as they look to build fitness for their first game of the 2025 season against each other in three weeks time (from the day of the game) at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Salford had a strong first half which saw them run in three tries at the Totally Wicked Stadium. Saints had their chances but were unable to grab any points in the first 40, as they trailed 0-18 at the break.

Both teams rotated their sides a bit in the second half. Salford increased their lead with two tries before Saints hit back with two tries of their own. That was the only points Saints were able to put on the board, Salford scoring two more tries late on to seal a 12-40 victory.
