Our Community over Christmas

With the Festive period now passed, we want to share the impact you helped us have this December just gone…

The start of the festive period saw the launch of our annual Boots Christmas Appeal. The appeal asks for donations of toys, food & selection boxes, that would then be redistributed back into our Community.

Donations

Donations of selection boxes from Neighbouring store to The Totally Wicked Stadium, Tesco’s & Local knitting club Toast Knitting Club helped support our Christmas events and hampers with gifts for kids within our Community. Their support was massively appreciated and helped ensure all children attending an SCDF event received a gift.

Approved Power Services donated to the appeal, with staff members and customers donating new toys to the company, who then donated them to the SCDF’s appeal. These toys, along with all our donations received, would form part of our hamper & present delivery within the Community.

‎

Smyths Toy Superstore for a third straight year kindly donated £1,000 worth of toys and gifts towards our Boots Christmas Appeal. For a third straight Christmas, Smyths have added a huge donation of toys which our mascot Boots helped pick out one evening at their St Helens store.

Another of our long standing continued supporters of our Boots Christmas Appeal, Kevin Donachie from Cleanhire UK, donated to the appeal with a large donation of toys towards the appeal, which along with the donation from Symths were delivered to children across the borough this Christmas.

‎ ‎

Along with all the companies and businesses list above, donations were also collected in Club Partner Home Bargains Stores across St Helens. Our mascot Boots went along to collect the donations and thank the customers within the store for their generosity.

Impact within the Community

All these donations helped create hampers and presents that were delivered and distributed. Local Primary School Allanson Street received multiple of our hampers and presents, as we continue to work alongside the school in supporting Children within the area.

First team members of the squad were on hand to visit local care homes and speak to the residents, and spread the festive spirit ahead of Christmas Day. Residents got the chance to tell old tales about their memories of the Saints, and enjoy some special memories with the team. The squad also donated some selection boxes, and other treats.

Our SCDF events also saw many Children visit the Totally Wicked Stadium for our Christmas Grotto. 198 Children came through the door to see Santa and Boots, with treats of visiting the 1st Team Changing, and much more. Our Cheerleading team Saints Angels hosted their Christmas Party, which saw another 77 children join us in the Community Zone.

The support from our Community meant that all 275 children received a Christmas gift, and helped spread the Christmas spirit around our Community.

Following the Christmas Break, the SCDF also hosted 5 HAF sessions, which saw another 67 Children spend some time with the Foundation enjoying multiple different fun and games, along with also receiving a gift!

Thank you

The support from everyone who donated to our appeal has allowed us as a Foundation to support our Community to the best of our ability, and ensure as many children and families as possible were provided with gifts and food over Christmas. We love being able to work with like minded organisations that want to support and make an impact in our Community in not only the Christmas period but all through out the year, and look forward to doing so this year.
