First Saints Angels Primary Troop Championship
Wednesday the 12th of February saw us hold our inaugural Saints Angels Primary Troop Championship!
After months of hard-work in the background to get the event organised, planned and prepared, the big day finally came around, as St Helens Town Hall hosted for the event.
The Primary Troop Championship was created to a provide a different opportunity for children in our community, giving them the chance to perform on a stage, with their friends and dance teams, all in a theatre setting with an audience!
Their was also a competitive element to the Primary Troop Championship, but it was all done in a fun and exciting environment.
Six schools within our Community entered the event, they are as follows:
- Queen’s Park Primary School
- Garswood Primary School
- St Teresa’s Primary School
- St Peter and St Paul Primary School
- Billinge Chapel End Primary School
- Millbrook Primary School
Each school was given a 15-minute rehearsal on stage before the main event to settle their nerves and tidy up any issues before their performance.
12:30 saw doors open, with spectators filling out the Town Hall ahead of the main event.
All 6 of our competing schools took to the stage, delivering unique and creative dances to our crowd and judges panel, with a range of dance styles on show, such as Acro, Modern, Jive and Street Dance. Our judges were A-Star Saints Angel Georgia Blackmore and Chantelle Tyrrell, an experienced Dancer and qualified coach.
Following an amazing performance from all 6 schools, our judges awarded a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place as followed:
- 1st Place – Queen’s Park Primary School
- 2nd Place – St Peter and St Paul Primary School
- 3rd Place – St Teresa’s Primary School

A massive congratulations to Queen’s Park Primary School on being crowned winners of our inaugural Primary Troop Championship, and to all our Schools who competed and took part, in what was a special day for everyone involved.
Our Primary Troop Championship was sponsored by Coalfields Regeneration Trust, who supported the event and made the day possible. A massive thank you to the team at Coalfields Regeneration Trust for your support!
We would also like to thank Paul Johnson, our club chaplain who was host for the event on stage, welcoming all our Schools to the stage and to the audience!
