RugBees returns from next week

Popular girls programme RugBees will make its return later on this month, touring around the local community!

Hosted at Portico Vine ARLFC throughout the entirety of the twenty-week programme during the first year, the popular Girls Rugby Programme RugBees will be touring around St.Helens as part of a five-week block programme for 2024.

Newly appointed Women’s Ambassador for the SCDF Katie Mottershead and Women’s Head Coach Matty Smith led the vast majority of the sessions in 2023, with players from the St.Helens Women’s team coming along to sessions frequently throughout the year to get involved.

RugBees saw many young girls within our Community come along and get involved with Rugby League, in a fun environment that allowed them to develop their skills whilst enjoying Rugby League!

You can find our first block of RugBees at the following Community Club on these dates:

Newton Storm (WA12 9XE):

Session 1 – 17.04.24

Session 2 – 24.04.24

Session 3 – 01.05.24

Session 4 – 08.05.24

Session 5 – 15.05.24

Further blocks will be held across other Community Clubs in St Helens, such as:

Haydock Warriors ARLFC  – (22.05.24 – 19.06.24)

Thatto Heath Crusaders – (26.06.24 – 24.07.24)

Portico Vine ARLFC – (31.07.24 – 28.08.24)

You can find a full run down of the programme from last year, along with some of the great opportunities given to the girls as a result of the programme, such as playing on the pitch during half-time of a men’s game at the Totally Wicked Stadium and walking out alongside St.Helens Women for one of their home games last season!
