SCDF Complete the Walk to Warrington!
On Friday the 7th of July our team of walkers set out on their journey to Warrington, ahead of the Saints clash against the Wolves!
The Saints Community Development Foundation, in partnership with St Helens MIND, set out on achieving the goal of walking from The Totally Wicked Stadium to The Halliwell Jones Stadium, all whilst raising funds for both organisations.
Our team of walkers consisted of multiple Saints Fans travelling over to The Halliwell Jones, along with members of our LDRL team joining in the challenge. Some of our A-Star Angel coaches also took part in the walk, as well as Thatto Heath under 14’s Girls’ side joining us on the journey. Walkers from MIND also joined the team, as our 70 walkers set off on their challenge.
Our team had three different locations for stops, stopping for breaks at Griffin Inn, in Clock Face, Great Sankey & Crossfields ARLFC, which allowed the team to stop for breaks to refresh and go again on their walk.
Our final stopover at Crosfields ARLFC was the ideal spot for a drink and a great place to welcome our walkers. Boots met up with the team at Crosfields, and cheered the walkers off as they completed the final 1.5 miles of the journey, joining up with the rest of the Saints faithful, as they cheered on the side to a 20-24 win over the Wolves!
The target of £5000 was achieved, with our fabulous walkers achieving the goal 90 minutes before kick-off on Friday! A huge thanks to everyone who contribute and support the walk, and a MASSIVE well done, and congratulations to all walkers who completed the 9-mile trek!
