Tigers in Town – The Community View

Once again, the Community were hard at work behind the scenes on Friday night, during the game against Castleford Tigers at the Totally Wicked Stadium!

The main match sponsor for Friday night’s game against Castleford was the SCDF.

Before the game got started, we had the Food Pantry van outside the Totally Wicked Stadium, which allowed fans to make donations to those in need.

A couple of weeks ago, before our derby day victory over Wigan, we announced a partnership with St Helens Community Food Provider Alliance.

We also visited the 1873 lounge. As the main match sponsor, we had two tables in the lounge pre-game. Mental Health Ambassador, Mike Webster  looked ahead to the Saints Community Development Foundation walk alongside St Helens Mind this coming Friday night, ahead of the men’s first team game at Warrington. You can find out more and donate to the walk here with several members of our SCDF team joining in with the walk. Dave Swift joined Mike on stage, as he discusses the challenge that he is taking himself, tackling a 100-mile walk in aid of the Saints Community Development Foundation, who has continued to support him through our Veterans of the Foundation. You can find out more about Dave’s challenge here!

We then headed pitch side, as we awaited the performance from our Saints Cheerleaders on the pitch. The Cheerleaders all dressed in bright colours for pride month, as they went through their routine in the pouring rain at the Totally Wicked Stadium. Everyone then posed for a group photo on the pitch at the end of their routine!

Boots then did his usual lap around the pitch before the game kicked off, as he met fans around all four sides of the stadium.

The A-Star Saints Angels then performed their pre-game routine before the game got underway at a very wet Totally Wicked Stadium.

Once again, we had a busy half-time. The were four Community games on the pitch going on at once in front of the East Stand. On pitch one, we had Pilkington Recs against Newton Storm. Pitch two saw Pilkington Recs face Clock Face Miners. Pitch three and four saw Pilkington Recs facing Thatto Heath Crusaders. With conditions continuing to worsen as the night went on.

As the Main Match Sponsor, we then were welcomed to the pitch at half-time, alongside our guests for the evening.
