SCDF’s first RugBees event held at Portico Vine
The Saints Community Development Foundation hosted our first-ever RugBees session at Portico Vine last night, hosted by St Helens Women’s Head Coach, Matty Smith!
RugBees got underway last night, with a bang! Loads of Girls turned up for our first session, with even more expected to turn up next week, after an eventful, exciting launch that even saw the ‘RugBee’ come down and check out the fun!
Some members of the group had never played rugby league before last night, so it was great to see them down and playing the sport for the first time!
The session lasted for one hour between 6 pm and 7 pm and is for girls aged between 7 and 11. From next week, there will be a cost to the sessions which will be confirmed by the end of this week, but there will be special guests joining Matty Smith at the session, such as St Helens Women players Katie Mottershead and Zoe Harris who attended last night’s session! A big thanks to both for coming down, and making the occasion even more special, who continue to inspire young girls within our community!
You can view a gallery showcasing some pictures from last night’s event in the article, as well as information that you will need for next week’s event. As already noted, pricing for the second session will be announced by the end of this week.
We hope to see you all there next week!
