2025 SCDF Awards Evening: All of the Winners

On Friday 28th February 2025, we held our SCDF Awards Evening at the Totally Wicked Stadium, with community clubs from around the borough in attendance!

MATCH OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR

The first award of the evening was for the Match Official of the Year. We had seven nominees for this award, but the winner was Phil Anders of the St Helens Referee Society!

SCHOOLS RUGBY LEAGUE TEAM OF THE YEAR

The second award of the evening was for the School Rugby League Team of the Year. The winner of this award was Outwood Academy Haydock!

COMMUNITY CLUBS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

The third award of the evening was for the Community Clubs Volunteer of the Year. We had eight nominees for this award, but the winner was Danny Woods of Thatto Heath Crusaders!

COMMUNITY CLUBS COACH OF THE YEAR

That moved us nicely onto our fourth award of the evening, the Community Clubs Coach of the Year. We had six nominees for this award, but the winners again from Thatto Heath, Phil Glover and Mike Woods!

COMMUNITY CLUBS TEAM OF THE YEAR

Our fifth award of the evening was for the Community Clubs Team of the Year. We had six nominees for this award, but the winners were Pilkington Recs’ u13 side!

COMMUNITY CLUBS UNSUNG HERO OF THE YEAR

Award number six of the night was for the Community Clubs’ Unsung Hero of the Year award. We had seven nominees for this one, but the winner was Thatto Heath Crusaders’ Dave Yates!

OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE

We then had the award for Outstanding Service to Amateur Rugby League. You can see the winners listed down below:

COMMUNITY CLUBS SOCIAL IMPACT AWARD

The eighth award of the evening was for the Community Clubs Social Impact Award. We had three nominees for this award, but the winner was Portico Vine ARLFC!

KEVIN THOMPSON LEGACY AWARD

The penultimate award of the evening was for the Kevin Thompson Legacy Award. We had four nominees for this award, but the winner was Mike Cole of Blackbrook Royals ARLFC!

LDRL TOM BLANTHORNE AWARD

The final award of the evening was the Tom Blanthorne award, for our LDRL team. We had eight nominees for this award, but the winner was Luke Henderson!
